Chanel Rouge Brulee Illusion D'Ombre Eyeshadow Review

I don't think there has ever been a product that I have been so happy to get my hands on as the new D'Ombre eyeshadow by Chanel. I first spotted this in July, and every store that I visited since had completely sold out. Just as I was giving up hope, I thought I would try South Terminal at Gatwick and low and behold, they had a couple left in stock!!

The shade Rouge Brulee is a part of the Le Rouge Collection No 1, designed by Lucia Pica, Chanel's new Creative Designer. Lucia has a passion for the colour red, and has based her Autumn collection around her love for the iconic hue.

The texture of this product has absolutely blown me away. The whole Illusion D'Ombre collection has an unbelievable cream to velvet feel, which is so easy to blend out. The pigment is so rich, and I think that this shade is just perfect for Autumn. It is a lovely burnt copper/rusty red colour, which could be worn in a smoked out look or even just on it's own for an intense bold eye.

This is my first Chanel product that I have purchased, and I am really impressed with the quality. I was a bit skeptical about investing in designer cosmetics since I was under the impression that most of the high price tag was for the logo on the packaging, However since dipping my toes in the water, I may have been ever so slightly converted, and I might just treat myself to a few more bits and bobs...
