The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid

I am very lucky to get access to new products before they launch and be able to test them throughout my day. So when I unboxed our latest delivery to find the brand new liquid lipsticks, I was completely over the moon! There's 12 amazing shades, including some amazing autumnal berry colours which made me very happy.

The packaging is very modern, which is really in keeping with The Body Shop's new look. At 5ml you get enough product to last you a while, but it is also not too big to keep one (or three) in your purse.

The product itself I am really impressed with. I feel like The Body Shop have really started to up their game on the beauty scene, even if they may be a bit late to a few of the trends. The quality of their recent launches has just been improving, but interestingly the price point seems to be dropping. From where I'm sat I'm calling that a win win!

I love the range of colours available. There are 12 in total, ranging from brights to nudes to berries. The colour lasts amazingly (I wore Sicily Iris all day and only topped up the centre after drinking) and the pigment is great, although I have found that the two darkest shades do need two coats to get an even coverage. However I think this is the case for most matte liquid lipsticks. I have pictured my 5 favourites in the range, which are very fitting for the season in my opinion!

(L-R: Sicily Iris, Mauritius Dahlia, Goa Magnolia, Tokyo Lotus, Taipei Orchid)
I can't help but think that these are extremely similar to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, from packaging style to texture - hell, they're even named after cities like the NYX ones! However this isn't a bad thing, Since the NYX products are very popular but can be hard to get hold of.

The only thing I really don't like about these is that they are limited edition (sad face). BUT, if demand is high there is always potential that they may keep it on as permanent. right??? That is what I am banking on, since I have already bought 5 shades and already have my eye on a couple more...

Do you think the liquid lip trend will eventually die out, or is this the way forward now? Never again will we see lip pigment in stick form. Is liquid is the future? (I kinda hope so, I like it).
