Top 5: Foundations Under £30

I have a confession to make: I own WAY too many foundations. I mean really, I only own 1 face, so why I have such a vast collection is beyond me. I justify this to myself with the fact that they all do different jobs (which is true!), so I thought that I'd share my favourites with you guys.

From left to right : Mac Pro Longwear in NW15, Maybelline Nude Flawless in Ivory, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in Light Ivory, L'oreal True Match in Rose Ivory, Bare Minerals Mineral Foundation in Fairly Light.

As you can tell from that list, I am fairly pale! I also have skin that behaves really well, so I don't really have preference over products for oily or dry skin. Each of the pictures below I have on just the foundation and a primer as a base, then applied the foundation with a Real Techniques Expert Face brush and a Beauty Blender sponge (apart from the Bare Minerals for which I just used a big fluffy brush).

First up is the Mac Pro Longwear. This does exactly what it says on the tin - it lasts forever. This is the most expensive of the 5 at £25.50, but I really think that this is a great investment for your make up bag. It is very yellow toned which is a downside for me, but it gives an amazing heavy coverage that lasts all day and into the night. Also for a heavy coverage foundation it is quite easy to blend which is a bonus. Perfect for a full on day and night out!

I'd heard great things about this product so I was really excited to try it go out and try it when it was first released. I love the velvety feel of this foundation, it leaves my skin feeling so silky and soft. I do find however that it does cling to any dry patches on my face, so I do tend to avoid it if I am feeling particularly dry one morning. But on a good skin day this is glorious!! On the down side I am not very keen on the dropper and would have much preferred a pump in the packaging.

This. Smells. Divine. I love using this when I'm having a bit of a bad skin day, as being a serum it blends quickly and beautifully and the natural extracts help my skin to recover faster. Luckily this colour is a great match for my skin, but from what I've seen in my local store they don't seem to have a vast colour range so I may just be lucky. This is a real go to for my day to day makeup, and a great all rounder.

One of the main benefits I find with this foundation is how pink the undertones are. Being fairly pink toned myself, I struggle to find a perfect match for my skin, but this really lives up to its name. Again it's really easy to blend, provides quite a dewy finish and makes my skin look beautiful. I also like the medium coverage that this foundation brings.

Lastly, the Bare Minerals foundation has been a staple in my bag for a long time. It's just so easy!! Again it is great for the days where your skin isn't quite feeling it's best, and it's so light on the skin it's like it's barely there! The coverage is light but really buildable and you can even use it as a concealer in concentrate areas. It's really easy to apply too, just a big fluffy brush all over the face and you're ready to go!

Let me know if your thoughts on these if you give them a go or use them already, and tweet me or comment your favourite foundations so I can give them a go!
